Eric, the Cavalier
Eric is the most variable (and probably the most complex)
of all the characters. He's a spoiled rich kid who's given the job of protecting
the gang with his magic shield. He's not always the nicest guy, and he's the
quickest with a sarcastic comeback. He'll do the right thing, but he whines and complains constantly along the way.
Though I found him annoying as a kid, I've since come to appreciate how interesting a character Eric is. He's definitely flawed, but his heart's in the right place. And he provides a valuable service by being the only kid to ever question Dungeonmaster's motives and riddles. (Perhaps it is Eric's constant griping about him that prompts Dungeonmaster to make HIM DM for a day...) As a side note, I should also mention that Tannhauser believes he has discovered who Eric's true father was. A rich and well-known figure, "a callow and crass person, with, moreover, a marked aversion to the supernatural"-- none other than Reggie Mantle, from 'The Archies!'
